COVID-19 Coronavirus stage 2 update

Chipmunks Reopening at Alert Level 2 (Covid-19 Pandemic)

As our Chipmunks stores start to reopen under the Government Alert Level 2 and beyond it means that we must implement stringent health and safety measures in order to abide by the guidelines set out by the Government and keep everyone safe.

The wellbeing of our customers and staff is our top priority. Government Guidelines are available here.

Please remember:

If you’re sick, stay home – Please do not come to Chipmunks if you or your group have recently been or feeling unwell.
Maintain physical distancing – Stick to those within your bubble and keep at least a 1m distance from others.
Keep up good hygiene practices – Wash hands frequently, cough & sneeze into your elbow and visit a doctor if you’ve been feeling unwell.

A maximum of 100 people in our store at any one given time.
  • 10 People

Unfortunately under Level 2 restrictions, you’ll only be able to visit for a maximum of 2 hours. Unlimited Play will be back soon!

Upon entry staff may ask to take the temperatures of people in your group with a non-contact digital forehead thermometer. Anybody with a high temperature over 38 degrees will be asked to come back another time.
  • Hygiene
Upon entry please wash your hands in the bathroom and/or use the hand sanitiser provided.
  • Cafe
Our full service cafe will be available and you will be able to place your order at our counter. We ask that you use the marked spots on the floor to ensure proper physical distancing. Food will be brought to you by one designated server, OR you will be asked to pop up to the collection area.

*For those who wish to visit but prefer a quicker and less invasive way of fulfilling contact tracing requirements, download and register with the CovidRegister app and simply scan our code when you arrive. Other local businesses are also adopting the app so you will only have to register once and scan the QR code as you enter to check-in.

How is my data used and who can see it?

  • Covid-19 Register only logs a record when YOU check in, it does not do any live tracking. Only you submit your data, or with your authority, you can be checked in as guest.
  • Only registered businesses where you have checked in, can see your contact details. This is so they can comply with Covid-19 restrictions in a contactless way. If they have a confirmed case of Covid-19 they have the ability to contact you.
  • Checking into a non-registered business or address is just for you. Its a way you can keep a personal diary of where you have been and you data is not shared with that business.
  • Your information is safe, and would only be shared with the Ministry of Health in a situation where contact tracing is required or you need to be contacted.
  • Your data is deleted when it is no longer needed. Business and personal records are only visible for four weeks. Your data is then permanently removed after 12 weeks.
